Perform a variety of routine, difficult duties requiring good communication skills, including assisting others in the workplace; store, maintain and issue physical education equipment and supplies; monitor the activities of students utilizing the locker room at an assigned school.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Perform a variety of routine, difficult duties requiring good communication skills, including assisting others in the workplace; store, maintain and issue physical education equipment and supplies; monitor the activities of students utilizing the locker room at an assigned school. E
  • Issue equipment, uniforms and supplies to students; receive, wash ad fold returned garments; repair garments as necessary; issue towels to students; receive and place towels in laundry bag for transport. E
  • Assign and issue lockers and locks to students; assist students having problems with lockers; monitor the activities of students utilizing the locker room; report incidents to appropriate personnel; maintain files and records. E
  • Perform a variety of light cleaning duties in the physical education office, locker room, dressing room; utilize a variety of cleaning equipment including mops and brooms. E
  • Assist in set-up of equipment, perform first aid, provide direction to student assistants. E
  • Assist in estimating need for physical education and athletic supplies and equipment; assist in preparing requisitions. E
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of relevant experience.LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Employment eligibility that may include fingerprints, Tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance.KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Routine, difficult inventory methods and practices
  • Requirements to maintain school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition
  • Basic record-keeping practices and techniques
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
  • District policies regarding health, safety and other procedures including first aid techniques

ABILITY TO:

  • Perform a variety of routine, difficult duties involving physical education student activities
  • Communicate clearly with students, staff and others
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions and work cooperatively with others
  • Perform minor garment repairs and maintain inventory and related records
  • Meet schedules and time lines and maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment
  • Maintain routine records and use common cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Administer first aid
  • Complete work accurately and as directed with many interruptions

WORKING CONDITIONS
ENVIRONMENT:
School physical education environment; constant interruptions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
