Description: Full Time Attorney: Mid – Level Litigation Associate – Environmental Law – San Francisco, CA / San Diego, CA / Palo Alto, CA / Los Angeles, CAA partner office is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate with a focus in Environmental Law to join their team. This position is open to California-admitted attorneys, with the flexibility to work in one of the firm’s offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego . The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental law and be comfortable with both litigation and regulatory compliance work.What’s in it for You:

Job Responsibilities:
- Client and Attorney Communication: Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Deliverables and Correspondence: Produce quality work product, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence in an efficient and timely manner.
- Litigation and Compliance Work: Engage in environmental litigation, including defense of enforcement actions, regulatory compliance, and advising clients on environmental regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, and other key environmental statutes.
- Deadline Management: Successfully meet deadlines and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Relationships: Foster positive work relationships within the team and across departments.
- Workplace Flexibility: Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Education: JD (Juris Doctor) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Admitted to practice in California.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental law, including environmental litigation, defense of enforcement actions, and regulatory compliance.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with key environmental statutes and regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, and California-specific environmental laws.
- Client Advisory: Strong background advising clients on regulatory requirements, emerging environmental issues, liability exposure, and public relations matters.
- Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating agreements related to compliance, cost recovery, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Technical Understanding: Comfort with technical aspects of environmental operations and remediation, including working with environmental consultants.
- Industry Experience: Experience with industries such as heavy industry, chemical manufacturing, defense, or maritime is preferred.
